Devops Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting critical applications within a complex enterprise environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong infrastructure background who enjoys solving operational challenges, automating processes and supporting production systems. Unlike many modern DevOps opportunities, this position requires experience working with on-premise infrastructure and physical servers rather than purely cloud-native environments. Key Responsibilities Support and maintain production applications and underlying infrastructure Develop and maintain automation using Python and Shell scripting Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking and application-related issues Work closely with Development, Infrastructure and Support teams Drive operational improvements and DevOps best practices Support deployments, monitoring, incident resolution and root cause analysis Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the technology estate Required Skills & Experience Proven DevOps, Infrastructure or Production Engineering experience Strong hands-on experience supporting on-premise infrastructure Python scripting experience Shell/Bash scripting experience Good understanding of networking fundamentals Exposure to database technologies Experience working within complex enterprise environments Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Desirable Experience Financial Services experience Exposure to Kubernetes or containerisation technologies Experience supporting market data platforms or low-latency environments The successful candidate will be a pragmatic engineer with strong technical fundamentals and a passion for solving real-world operational problems. Previous experience working within structured, process-driven organisations will be highly beneficial. Hybrid working arrangement available.
