Data Scientist Mid-Level

Salary: $114,080 - 218,030 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in mathematics, computer science, statistics, economics, finance, actuarial science, science, engineering, or another quantitative field, or 4 years of relevant education and/or experience. We require 4 years of experience in predictive analytics or data analysis, or an advanced degree in a related quantitative discipline plus 2 years of predictive analytics or data analysis experience. We require 2 years of experience training and validating statistical, physical, machine learning, or other advanced analytics models. We require 2 years of experience using a dynamic scripting language such as Python or R for statistical analysis and/or building and scoring AI/ML models. We require experience writing code that is clear, well documented, and commented where needed to explain logic. We require experience querying and preparing data from structured and/or unstructured databases using SQL, HQL, NoSQL, or similar query languages. We require experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data files, including delimited numeric files, JSON/XML, text documents, images, and similar formats. We require experience performing ad hoc analytics using descriptive, diagnostic, and inferential statistics. We require the ability to assess regulatory implications and expectations tied to different modeling efforts. We require experience with classical supervised modeling methods such as linear/logistic regression, discriminant analysis, support vector machines, decision trees, and forest models. We require experience with unsupervised modeling methods such as k-means clustering, hierarchical/agglomerative clustering, nearest-neighbor approaches, and DBSCAN. We require experience communicating analytical and modeling results to non-technical business partners with an emphasis on recommendations and actionable outcomes. Responsibilities: We gather, interpret, and transform structured and unstructured data to support advanced analytical solutions. We develop scalable, automated solutions using machine learning, simulation, and optimization to generate business insight and value. We select appropriate modeling techniques and technologies based on data constraints, application needs, and business priorities. We develop and deploy models within the Model Development Control and Model Risk Management framework. We create technical documentation for knowledge retention, risk management, and technical review audiences. We evaluate business needs and recommend analytical and modeling initiatives that can create value. We help prioritize analytics and modeling problems and research efforts with business and analytics leaders. We contribute to a reusable library of production-quality algorithms and supporting code to keep modeling work transparent and grounded in high-quality data. We translate business requests into analytical questions, perform the analysis or modeling, and communicate outcomes to non-technical partners with clear recommendations. We work closely with Data Engineering, IT, the business, and other stakeholders to deliver production-ready analytical assets aligned with customer needs and model risk standards. We stay current on emerging techniques and continuously look for opportunities to learn new methods, technologies, and approaches. We help ensure business risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in line with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
