Job Description: Department Description: The Analytics, Insights & Artificial Intelligence (AI2) team delivers data- and analytics-driven insights that support informed decision-making and strategic planning across the organization. Within AI2, the Canadian Personal Banking (CPB) team provides end-to-end analytics support-including reporting, advanced analytics, and AI solutions-to drive measurable business value. Role Overview Data Scientist II, reporting to the Manager, COO BI and AI Enablement, is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering data science solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the business. This role applies strong technical expertise in Python, SQL, Databricks, cloud-based data platforms, semantic data modeling, and visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau to transform complex data into meaningful insights, scalable reporting assets, and actionable recommendations. The Data Scientist partners closely with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and analytics partners to understand business challenges, translate requirements into analytical solutions, and ensure outputs are accurate, reliable, and aligned to strategic priorities. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where analytical rigor, automation, and AI are essential to driving business value. Key Responsibilities include: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand business objectives and requirements, and design and execute on the analytical solutions in an accurate and timely fashion Design and deliver insightful, functional, and visually compelling dashboards and reports using Power BI and/or Tableau, enabling self-serve BI and informed action. Develop insightful, functional and appealing data visualization to facilitate self-serve insights generation and actioning Become a data and subject matter expert to become a valuable and strategic partner who can provide thought leadership Manage partner inquiries, problem resolution, providing updates and communication including presentation and training as necessary Work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, challenging data and technology environment that leverages multiple databases and tools Work individually or as a team leveraging each other's knowledge and expertise Contribute to a positive team dynamic including collaboration, sharing best practices and making it a great place to work Required Qualifications: Advanced university degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or other analytically based discipline Over 3 years of work experience in analytics and reporting Strong Power BI, Tableau Reporting and PySpark coding skills Strong problem-solving skills, solid background working with data and conducting analysis or planning complex data flows and processes Superior communication skills with proven ability to communicate quantitative/ qualitative information and key messages in a clear and compelling way Detail oriented with excellent organization skills and ability to effectively manage work under tight timelines and changing priorities Disciplined with a proven track record of delivering results and executing with excellence Technical Knowledge/Skills: Advanced experience developing enterprise-grade dashboards and reports using Power BI and/or Tableau. Solid understanding of data modeling, BI semantic layers, and visualization best practices. Knowledge of AI-powered tools such as MS copilot to accelerate insights, automate repetitive analytics tasks, and unlock advance data exploration capabilities across BI workflows Hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure cloud services. Working knowledge of Python and PySpark to support data preparation for BI use cases.
