Data Scientist

Salary: $116000 - 153000 per year Requirements: We require a masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a closely related discipline; a PhD or additional professional experience is preferred. We look for 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, with strong capabilities in data engineering and model development. We require 2-5 years of experience in risk modeling and geo-spatial modeling. We need proven ability to solve complex data challenges when starting with limited information. We value experience working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. We expect exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to data quality. We require proficiency in Python, SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache Hive, BigQuery SQL, and Snowflake. We prefer hands-on machine learning experience, ideally with Cisco Modeling, though general ML expertise is acceptable. We seek experience in building, automating, and deploying machine learning models in production. We value experience with model development and automation, as well as fraud models or fraud indicators. Responsibilities: We design, develop, and automate predictive models for risk selection, coverage optimization, and fraud detection. We perform monthly, quarterly, and annual model risk and compliance reviews to ensure regulatory and internal standards are met. We partner with cross-functional teams to improve data quality and integrate models into production environments. We apply machine learning techniques to support model development and automation. We monitor and maintain models to preserve performance and accuracy over time. We support future initiatives in advanced model development and geo-spatial modeling. We build and implement data-driven solutions that improve underwriting performance. We test different data sources and statistical modeling approaches to uncover insights. We automate statistical model monitoring and data analysis. We document and publish model monitoring reports using markdown or similar tools. We version, publish, and maintain model monitoring code using SQL and Python. We prototype, test, and deploy machine learning models into production. We work with stakeholders across the organization to identify and resolve key business challenges. We analyze ambiguous data to derive meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
