Data Engineer Specialist

Salary: $120,000 - 160,000 per year Requirements: We need at least 5 years of relevant experience, including 2+ years designing and supporting data pipelines, ETL workflows, and database architectures. We expect a bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience. We require strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala for data processing, automation, and transformation. We look for hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka for both real-time and batch workloads. We value experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Azure Synapse, along with cloud-native ETL and pipeline tooling. We require a solid understanding of data modeling concepts and relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra. Responsibilities: We build advanced data solutions using software to process, store, and deliver data to others. We test data quality and improve data availability. We ensure data pipelines are scalable, repeatable, and secure. We write ETL processes, design database systems, and develop tools for real-time and offline analytics. We troubleshoot software and processes to maintain data consistency and integrity. We integrate large-scale data from multiple sources to help business partners generate insights and make decisions. We translate business requirements into design specifications and code. We write complex programs, ad hoc queries, and reports, keeping code structured, well documented, and reusable. We partner with internal clients to better understand business functions and information needs. We build expertise in tools, technologies, applications, and databases across specific business areas and company-wide systems. We lead all phases of solution development and explain technical considerations in meetings with internal clients and less experienced team members. We test code thoroughly to confirm it works as intended and review end products with clients. We provide data analysis guidance where needed. We design and deliver training on team tools and data sources, and provide job aids for team members and business users. We test and implement new software releases through regression testing. We identify issues, work with vendors to resolve them, and support moving software into production. We participate in special projects and complete other duties as assigned.
