About the role

The Datacenter Systems Architecture team seeks an outstanding computer systems or technology architect to influence and drive new product designs. This position is a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional lead engineering role encompassing all aspects of computer system design. The candidate will have the skills and experience to create system architectures, surprise and delight our customers, and advance our products' performance, size, power, thermal and cost goals. Description Provide physical architectural guidance and leadership to cross-functional engineering teams to establish new product definitions and requirements. Lead the solutions for delivering physical architecture solutions for datacenter platforms through the following: Pathfinding on novel system architecture choices with a broad group of architects and system engineers, technical leads, HW/SW managers, and vendors. Possess subject matter expertise in complex server design solutions and understand tradeoff considerations for datacenter applications. Drive physical architecture investigations for product system integration options through active collaboration with mechanical, physical, electrical, thermal, power, and signal integration design stakeholders. Author system architecture specifications, system interface and connectivity diagrams, and conduct reviews with the product teams. Analyze, guide and support thermal management solutions and trade-offs Anticipate future SoC requirements and negotiate with internal SoC teams to align with physical architecture solutions and integration opportunities. Be innovative and curious. Explore and champion new product-level features and workflows. Review, challenge and influence people and processes Lead system physical architecture and guide early design team activities Define, develop and utilize tools, scripts, automation and methods of system analysis Mentor junior engineers to best practices and data-driven processes The role may require occasional domestic and international travel. Preferred Qualifications Possess functional experience in defining physical architecture solutions for complex server system designs deployed in datacenter applications. Understands schematics, PCB layout & designs; has experience in bring-up, system debug and hands-on lab environments. Comprehends the roles of HW/FW/SW layers and how they interact in system design. Has strong analytic, verbal, written and communication skills. Able to summarize and effectively communicate technical issues and actions to key stakeholders and leadership teams Minimum Qualifications BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant industry experience Has core competence and subject matter expertise architecting servers for general purpose compute, or specialty compute (GPUs, TPUs) systems running datacenter workloads for AI/ML applications. Possesses strong technical breadth across several computer subsystem technologies, e.g., CPU, GPU, TPU, storage, memory, power delivery, power management, networking, I/O, thermal management. Able to create, review and approve engineering requirement specification documents Pay & Benefits At Lumen Dynamics, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $324,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Lumen Dynamics employees also have the opportunity to become an Lumen Dynamics shareholder through participation in Lumen Dynamics's discretionary employee stock programs.
