About Certis Life at Certis Duties & Responsibilities As a Data Architect , you will be responsible for defining and governing Certis’ enterprise data architecture. You will design end-to-end data models, platforms, and integration patterns that support business strategy, analytics, and digital initiatives, while ensuring data is secure, scalable, and fit for purpose. Your Responsibilities Enterprise Data Architecture & Design Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business and technology strategies. Design scalable and resilient data architectures to support operational systems, analytics, reporting, and advanced use cases such as AI and automation. Establish architectural standards, principles, and patterns for data platforms, integration, and consumption. Act as design authority for data-related initiatives, reviewing and approving solution designs to ensure architectural consistency and quality. Data Platforms & Integration Partner with IT and engineering teams to design and evolve data platforms such as data warehouses, data lakes, and streaming architectures. Define data integration and interoperability patterns across enterprise systems, cloud platforms, and external partners. Guide technology selection and design decisions related to data storage, processing, and analytics tools. Ensure data architectures are performant, scalable, and cost-effective. Data Governance, Quality & Standards Embed data governance, data quality, and metadata requirements into data architecture designs. Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and modelling practices across the organization. Collaborate with data governance and security teams to ensure architectures support data quality, lineage, classification, and regulatory requirements. Ensure critical data assets are well-documented and aligned with enterprise metadata and governance frameworks. Security, Privacy & Compliance by Design Design data architectures with security, privacy, and compliance embedded by default. Partner with security, risk, and compliance teams to ensure appropriate access controls, encryption, and data protection mechanisms are implemented. Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g. PDPA, GDPR) and internal security policies. Support audits and reviews by providing architectural documentation and guidance. Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory Work closely with business leaders, product owners, and technology teams to understand business requirements and translate them into robust data architectures. Act as a bridge between business and technical stakeholders, ensuring data solutions are both technically sound and business-relevant. Provide architectural guidance, coaching, and mentorship to solution architects, engineers, and data teams. Communicate complex architectural concepts clearly to senior stakeholders and governance forums. Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 8–12 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture roles. Strong expertise in data modelling, data warehousing, data lakes, integration patterns, and analytics architectures. Experience designing architectures in cloud and hybrid environments. Solid understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data quality concepts. Strong knowledge of data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements (e.g. PDPA, GDPR). Proven ability to influence architectural decisions and collaborate with senior stakeholders across business and technology.
