Cyber Software Engineer

Salary: $115000 - 167000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree with at least 4 years of relevant cyber or software engineering experience, or a graduate degree with at least 2 years of related experience. In place of a degree, we consider candidates with 8 or more years of prior cyber or software engineering experience. We look for demonstrated experience building software applications that enable defensive cybersecurity capabilities. We require hands-on experience installing, configuring, using, and troubleshooting tools and platforms such as Splunk, Elastic, Tenable, NetApp ONTAP Storage, Windows Active Directory, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, OpenShift, and Kubernetes. We expect proficiency with scripting and development technologies including YAML, Java, Python, Ansible, Bash, SQL, and PowerShell. We seek experience using CI/CD tooling such as GitLab Enterprise, along with strong software configuration management skills. We require an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain access. Preferred experience includes assessing security and privacy controls in embedded systems using NIST 800-53. Preferred background includes leadership experience in Agile environments such as Scrum Master or Product Owner roles. Preferred knowledge includes systems engineering standards, password management tools, SAST/DAST, container scanning, and RMF accreditation and authorization processes. Responsibilities: We design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain software applications that support defensive cybersecurity capabilities. We implement and support technologies for multi-factor authentication, audit review, endpoint protection, encryption, vulnerability analysis, and security management. We install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot industry-standard cyber tools and infrastructure platforms. We collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and commercial vendors to assess and integrate secure products and solutions. We evaluate secure systems, networks, and database environments to strengthen overall security posture. We combine multiple cybersecurity controls into a unified system security architecture and operating environment. We support the policies and procedures needed to monitor and sustain the security environment.
