The Meridian Softworks Global Security, Privacy & Compliance Centre of Excellence (COE SPC) provides expert security advisory services to Sales, Pre-sales, Customers, and Partners. The team is the single point of contact for all security, privacy, and compliance-related field engagements within the Meridian Softworks Cloud Business Unit. Role Summary: We are seeking a Security expert to act as the Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Meridian Softworks Cloud customer assessments, audits and evidence-related engagements within the COE SPC team for global engagements. This is a hands-on technical security role, not a compliance or GRC position. We are looking for a security engineer who can deeply understand systems, analyse technical evidence, and confidently defend it with highly technical security and audit stakeholders. You will apply your expertise in security controls to Meridian Softworks Cloud services during customer audits, clearly articulating and defending our security, privacy, and compliance posture. This includes explaining controls and presenting evidence in complex discussions with security and compliance teams. You will build strong knowledge of Meridian Softworks Cloud AI capabilities and their security and compliance considerations, respond to security inquiries, and act as the internal escalation point for these discussions. The role requires deep technical credibility, strong evidence-handling discipline, and the ability to translate complex controls into clear, defensible audit narratives. You should be comfortable in high-pressure customer environments, managing competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Fluency in both English and German is required. Key Responsibilities: COE Security & Cloud SME Act as the primary technical SME for Meridian Softworks Cloud customer audits Serve as the internal escalation point for penetration testing–related discussions. Lead advanced technical discussions with customers, prospects, partners, and auditors. Defend Meridian Softworks Cloud AI security, privacy, and compliance using technical evidence. Security Controls & Technical Deep Dives Demonstrate control-level understanding across frameworks (SOC 2, PCI, etc.). Generate and validate evidence showing how Meridian Softworks Cloud security controls are implemented (IAM, encryption, key management, network segmentation, logging, monitoring, detection and response, incident management, web security, AI security, SDLC). Interpret and present technical evidence (logs, configurations, architecture diagrams, policies, automation artefacts) for audits and assessments. Translate compliance requirements into clear technical explanations of control operation. Support audits, deep security reviews, and penetration testing discussions. Translate risk into clear, defensible statements on control effectiveness. General requirements: Strong understanding of AWS cloud security and SaaS shared responsibility models. Ability to discuss cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and DevSecOps controls from an implementation perspective. Understanding of AI security trends and emerging cloud threats. This Role Offers A highly technical, customer-facing SME role in a global COE team. Close collaboration with Engineering, Security, and Architecture teams. High autonomy in a trust-based environment. Exposure to complex enterprise environments. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or equivalent experience. Experience as an auditee delivering evidence in compliance attestation presentations. Experience in IAM, network security, encryption, key management, logging, auditing, and monitoring in cloud environments and architecture. Ability to explain complex security concepts to technical and business audiences as a security subject matter expert. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Awareness of AI security risks and AI governance. Fluency in both English and German Nice to Have Qualifications: Experience with TLPT as defined by DORA Experience designing, discussing, defending pen testing findings and remediation approaches.
