Cloud Platform Engineer

Opportunity overview As a Cloud Platform Engineer at Cloudfide, you will join a client project focused on reviewing and improving a cloud-based platform across all key layers: Azure infrastructure, Kubernetes orchestration, backend application, and external integrations. We are looking for someone who can connect the dots between cloud, containers, backend development, and application delivery. You will start by reviewing the current setup end-to-end and then help define the next steps to make the platform more consistent, maintainable, and aligned with the application needs. You will work closely with the client, helping them understand the current state of the platform, clarify priorities, and translate technical findings into practical next steps. This role is best suited for someone independent, communicative, and confident in client-facing collaboration. Your Responsibilities Review the current platform setup across Azure infrastructure, Kubernetes, backend application, and external integrations. Prepare and drive a prioritized action plan to improve consistency between infrastructure, orchestration, and the application layer. Provision and maintain Azure infrastructure using Terraform, especially around MongoDB / CosmosDB. Deploy, configure, and operate containerized workloads on Kubernetes. Contribute to backend development where platform and application layers meet, preferably using Node.js. Work within an Nx monorepo setup, keeping structure, builds, and dependencies clean and maintainable. Communicate directly with the client, explaining progress, risks, technical findings, and recommended next steps. What We’re Looking For Experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Backend Engineer working close to cloud and containerized environments. Strong Azure experience, especially with MongoDB / CosmosDB. Solid Terraform skills and practical experience with infrastructure as code. Production experience with Kubernetes. Backend application development experience, preferably with Node.js. Experience with monorepo architecture, ideally Nx. Ability to understand dependencies between infrastructure, containers, backend services, and external integrations. Clear communication skills and confidence working directly with clients. High ownership, independence, and ability to work effectively in a demanding project setup. Fluent English. Nice to Have JFrog. Keycloak. KrakenD. Temporal. Module federation. Experience improving developer experience, deployment standards, or internal platform tooling.
