Canes Network Engineer

Salary: $117000 - 170000 per year Requirements: We require an active TS/SCI clearance. We need at least six years of experience supporting the engineering of IT systems for a DoD or government agency. We need at least four years of experience supporting the engineering of DoD afloat network systems such as CANES, ADNS, ISNS, CENTRIXS, SCI Networks, SUBLAN, or COMPOSE. We require six years of experience engineering solutions involving technologies such as Cisco switches, Cisco firewalls, or Cisco ISE. We require a bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physical science from an accredited university. We require an active CCNA certification; CCNP is preferred. We need three or more years of experience producing technical documentation. We need a strong background in client-facing roles that involve stakeholder engagement and relationship building across Navy, DoD, or federal programs. We need experience with SDN/SD-WAN technologies and vendors such as VMware, NSX-T, Cisco, Juniper, or open-source solutions. We need experience configuring L2/L3 switches, routers, and security appliances such as firewalls, NIDS, and NIPS. We need experience developing and documenting network topologies. We need experience troubleshooting and restoring network and system outages. We need experience with virtualization technologies. Preferred experience includes RF communications, especially MILSATCOM or COMSATCOM. Preferred experience includes NetDevOps or DevSecOps for scaling enterprise engineering efforts. Preferred experience includes network automation using Python, Ansible, NETCONF, or RESTCONF. Preferred experience includes modeling network configurations in JSON, YAML, or Jinja. Preferred experience includes driving complex, collaborative networking initiatives and working independently to advance network development. Responsibilities: We design and implement Navy network solutions. We develop network topologies and templates based on system requirements. We create IP addressing plans. We prepare detailed test plans and supporting documentation. We configure and document SD-WAN solutions to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable performance. We translate technical requirements into clear, effective network designs. We collaborate with stakeholders across Navy, DoD, and federal programs. We troubleshoot and help restore network and system outages.
