Business Analyst

Salary: $70000 - 85000 per year Requirements: Proven background as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst, with practical experience using business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or comparable tools. Strong SQL capability, including hands-on work with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle, plus solid query management skills. Experience with ETL workflows using Talend or similar solutions, along with familiarity with database design fundamentals. Technical proficiency in R, Python, VBA, and Bash (Unix shell) to support analysis and automation tasks. Knowledge of SDLC approaches, including Agile practices, and the ability to assess software development lifecycle processes. Excellent analytical abilities covering data visualization, dashboard creation, requirements analysis, and reporting. Experience with linked data concepts and integrating multiple datasets into unified analytics solutions. Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical ideas for business audiences and work effectively across teams. A bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred; certifications are an advantage. Responsibilities: Partner with cross-functional teams to elicit, analyze, and document business needs, then convert them into precise technical specifications. Build reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Looker to support informed decision-making. Analyze data through SQL, Excel, R, Python, and ETL methods to uncover insights from complex datasets in SQL-based systems. Carry out database design activities, including data modeling and query management, to improve storage and retrieval efficiency. Support the full SDLC across requirements, testing, deployment, and maintenance in Agile environments. Create and maintain automated workflows using VBA, Bash, Talend, or similar scripting tools to streamline data processing. Contribute to linked data initiatives by integrating disparate datasets for broader analytical coverage. Develop interactive dashboard elements that present key performance metrics clearly to stakeholders. Review business processes to identify improvement opportunities and recommend scalable, data-driven solutions aligned with company goals. Keep technical documentation, process flow diagrams, and governance-related records up to date and aligned with best practices.
