As a Backend Engineer , you will play a key role in designing and building the systems that power our next generation of commerce solutions. Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team. You will design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure server-side applications that power our products and services. The ideal candidate is passionate about building efficient systems, has strong problem-solving skills, and thrives in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: Design and build high-concurrency backend services using Go or Java to support global e-commerce scale. Develop and optimize AI-powered search features , including vector-based semantic search and integration with LLM-driven workflows. Build and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS , ensuring high availability and optimized performance for large-scale media assets. Implement event-driven architectures and microservices that communicate via high-performance message brokers. Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment in a containerized environment. Collaborate on the design of complex database schemas (Postgres) and search index mappings (OpenSearch) to ensure data integrity and query efficiency. Your Skills and Experience What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 2+ years of backend development experience. We are also open to exceptional early-career engineers with strong technical foundations. Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) or Java. Experience building and operating cloud-native applications on AWS. Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL. Experience working with containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with modern observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki. Experience working with search technologies such as OpenSearch or Elasticsearch. Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and high-concurrency applications. Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building scalable products. Good English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within regional teams. Preferred Skills (Optional): Experience with Vector Databases (e.g. OpenSearch Vector Engine). Knowledge of building and optimizing Digital Asset Management (DAM) or content delivery systems. Understanding of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or AWS CDK .
