Associate Software Engineering Manager

Salary: $153000 - 219000 per year Requirements: Bachelors Degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experience Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree Proven experience in a senior engineering or technical lead role Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, or integrating RESTful services in production settings Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance Strong communication skills with the capability to collaborate across various disciplines Exposure to proposal development, cost estimation, or EVMS-driven program environments Experience in Agile or hybrid Agile development environments Familiarity with deploying applications in OpenShift, MicroShift, or Kubernetes-based settings Responsibilities: Provide daily technical and task leadership to a software engineering team, ensuring high-quality software delivery within budget and schedule Lead the development of RESTful APIs and service-based architectures, as well as Java enterprise applications deployed on JBoss or similar servers Guide software deployment and maintenance on Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, including RPM-based software packaging and distribution Participate in and lead code, design, and architecture reviews for service-based, VoIP, and application-level software systems Collaborate closely with systems engineering, electrical engineering, cybersecurity, and program management to ensure successful system integration Mentor engineers on technical growth, career progression, and performance standards Contribute to performance management processes, including input for performance reviews and goal setting Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and task assignment of new software engineers Maintain active technical involvement to aid development, integration, troubleshooting, and sustainment tasks Provide technical input to proposal activities, including preliminary estimates, task definitions, and engineering assumptions Technologies: JBoss Java Kubernetes Linux OpenShift Security CI/CD DevOps Support RHEL More: At L3Harris, we are committed to attracting and developing a high-performing workforce that is passionate about their roles.
