Associate Data Center Technician

Salary: $26,400 - 36,960 per year Requirements: We require 2+ years of experience deploying and supporting server and network equipment in a 24/7 production data center setting. We require 2+ years of experience supporting enterprise-grade computer and network systems, along with data center infrastructure. We prefer a BA/BS degree in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on experience. We value experience with data center design or installation. We value knowledge of structured cabling solutions, including cabling standards, fiber/optic types, and installation practices. We value BICSI Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) or Certified Data Center Design Professional (CDCDP) credentials. We value experience working in Unix/Linux environments. We value experience with network diagnostics and troubleshooting. We value project management experience, including strong organizational, verbal, written, and analytical abilities. We value experience operating in large organizations with cross-functional team dependencies. Responsibilities: We support development efforts by reviewing hardware, software, and system design to ensure requirements are met. We participate in hardware and software integration as well as acceptance testing across systems and subsystems. We help establish policies, monitor service performance, set priorities, and develop standards for the production environment. We design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure across multiple production environments. We proactively recommend alternate solutions, design approaches, and third-party tools to address operational challenges. We respond to system incidents around the clock and participate in the on-call rotation. We write and contribute to system, test, and test-report documentation to confirm design and validation results meet customer expectations. We keep mission-critical servers available and running 24/7. We administer servers and carry out hardware and software upgrades. We run production jobs on schedule, monitor server activity, diagnose issues, resolve problems according to procedure, and escalate when needed.
