API Security Developer

Salary: $80000 - 93000 per year Requirements: We need healthcare payer industry experience. We are looking for SMART on FHIR experience. We need hands-on experience with identity and access management concepts and enterprise authentication frameworks. We need experience supporting a migration from Okta to Auth0. We need knowledge of Kong API gateway. We need strong practical experience with OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect. We need experience in API security development and secure integration patterns. We need experience with Auth0 and/or Okta platforms. We need the ability to translate security concepts such as groups into roles or permissions, policies into actions or rules, authorization servers into APIs, and token and claim transformations. We need development experience with JavaScript and Node.js, with Java and Spring Boot as a plus. We need experience building or supporting RESTful APIs and backend integrations. We need a strong understanding of secure authentication and authorization flows. We need experience working in Agile development environments. Preferred experience includes supporting interoperability or patient access initiatives. Preferred familiarity with FHIR resources and healthcare API standards. Preferred experience supporting cloud-native or enterprise modernization initiatives. Preferred knowledge of API gateway or enterprise security tooling. Responsibilities: We will support API security and identity modernization initiatives across enterprise healthcare applications. We will design, develop, and improve secure authentication and authorization solutions. We will assist with migration work from Okta to Auth0, including translating security constructs and policy logic. We will refactor and modernize application authentication and authorization flows. We will implement and support OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect integrations, including PKCE, client credentials, ID tokens, scopes, and claim handling. We will configure token transformation, claim mapping, and API authorization approaches. We will develop and maintain secure backend integrations and APIs using Node.js, JavaScript, Java, and Spring Boot. We will support SMART on FHIR authorization frameworks and interoperability efforts. We will work with FHIR resources such as Patient, Practitioner, and Observation. We will collaborate with engineering, architecture, security, and interoperability partners. We will contribute to solution analysis, technical design, development, testing, and implementation. We will help define and document API security standards, best practices, and governance practices.
