APEX/Database Developer

This is a remote position. Position Overview We are seeking a Junior to Mid-Level APEX/Database Developer to support ongoing database development and Oracle APEX application initiatives. This role focuses on building simple, functional database solutions and user-friendly applications, with an emphasis on clear communication and understanding business requirements rather than deep technical complexity. Key Responsibilities 1. Database Development Design and develop database schemas for small-scale applications Create and maintain Oracle APEX applications (version 20+) Develop simple interfaces for data selection, display, and basic operations Maintain and optimize existing database structures Translate business requirements into effective database solutions 2. APEX Application Development Build functional APEX applications with minimal complexity Develop user-friendly interfaces for basic data operations Create simple forms, reports, and data views Ensure applications meet business needs without over-engineering 3. Communication & Collaboration Gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions Communicate clearly with stakeholders throughout development Explain technical concepts in business-friendly language Provide regular progress updates and reports Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Requirements Technical Requirements Essential Skills Strong understanding of database design and schema principles Hands-on experience with Oracle APEX or database-driven applications Advanced SQL skills (writing, optimizing, debugging queries) Knowledge of data modeling and logical database structures Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities Development Experience Experience working on small to medium-scale database projects Ability to enhance existing databases and build new ones Basic understanding of web application development Communication Skills Strong written and verbal English communication Ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions Active listening and comprehension skills Clear and professional communication style Preferred Qualifications Technical Background Junior to mid-level experience in APEX development Experience working with small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) Basic understanding of business workflows and processes Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript basics) Soft Skills Self-motivated with strong initiative Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Collaborative and patient mindset Effective time management and organizational abilities Originally posted on Himalayas
