AI Engineering Team Lead

Keystone AI , part of Thermo Fischer Scientific, is looking for an AI Engineering Team Lead who will be overseeing the successful delivery of strategic AI initiatives across our portfolio. This role combines technical leadership, project delivery oversight, stakeholder management, and people leadership. The AI Engineering Lead will guide AI Engineers and Software Engineers, translate business priorities into executable plans, and ensure high-quality AI solutions are delivered with strong outcomes for the business and our customers. What We Offer Competitive Compensation and Incentives Attractive Benefits (Pension, Private Health Coverage, Life Assurance & Salary Sacrifice Schemes) Flexible Time Off Policy Engaging Employee Programs Technology for Remote/Hybrid Working What You'll Be Doing Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple AI initiatives, ensuring projects meet scope, timelines, quality expectations, and business objectives Mentor and support AI Engineers by setting clear direction, providing coaching, and building a high-performing project team Partner with stakeholders across product, science, clinical, operations, and engineering to define requirements, priorities, milestones, risks, and success metrics Translate stakeholder needs into technical roadmaps, delivery plans, and resourcing strategies for AI-powered products and platforms Guide solution design, software development, model integration, testing, deployment, and operational support across the AI project portfolio Drive strong AI research and engineering practices across the team Coordinate dependencies, remove blockers, and communicate project status, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to leadership and stakeholders Balance innovation and experimentation with execution discipline, scalability, reliability, and compliance considerations Contribute to hiring, onboarding, team planning, and continuous improvement of delivery processes and engineering standards What We're Looking For Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field 7+ years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, machine learning, or related technical roles 2+ years of experience leading teams, technical programs, or cross-functional delivery efforts Demonstrated success delivering AI/ML or data-driven software solutions from concept through production Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with modern AI/ML tooling, backend services, APIs, and data pipelines Experience with cloud-based architectures and production deployment of software or AI solutions Proven ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and drive alignment across competing priorities Strong people leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills Commitment to high-quality, secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions Experience in healthcare, life sciences, biotech, or other regulated environments is a plus Familiarity with generative AI, LLM-enabled workflows, retrieval systems, or AI-assisted product capabilities is a plus At Keystone AI , our purpose is to transform lives by unlocking better evidence.
