Design and develop scalable APIs and SDKs for AI services including speech recognition and machine translation.
About the Team Nimbus Data Systems is building its AI API Suite as a strategic platform to expose proprietary AI capabilities to external developers and enterprises. The team sits at the intersection of AI, infrastructure, and developer platforms, enabling services such as Speech Recognition, Machine Translation, OCR, and AI-powered summarization to be consumed via scalable APIs and SDKs. This is a foundational team responsible for building the API and SDK layer that powers Nimbus Data Systems's next phase of AI monetization, working closely with AI research, platform engineering, and product teams globally. What You Can Expect Work on a high-impact, executive-sponsored AI platform initiative Build developer-facing products used at global scale Partner closely with AI research teams to bring models into production Solve complex challenges across distributed systems, AI workloads, and developer experience Influence the architecture and direction of a new API business line Responsibilities Designing and developing scalable APIs and SDKs for AI services including ASR, Machine Translation, OCR, and AI Summary Building batch and real-time processing systems for speech and multimodal AI workloads Developing SDKs, tooling, and interfaces that enable a seamless developer experience Integrating AI services with billing, metering, and self-service platforms Collaborating with AI research teams to productionize and scale proprietary models Creating and maintaining API documentation, code samples, and developer resources Implementing monitoring, logging, and analytics for API usage and performance Ensuring API security, reliability, and scalability for enterprise consumption Partnering with cross-functional teams across global locations Qualifications Required Have 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on API and/or SDK development Have strong proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go Have experience designing and building RESTful APIs at scale Have experience building and operating distributed systems or microservices Have hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Have a strong understanding of authentication, authorization, and API security principles Have experience working with API gateways, service mesh, or similar infrastructure Preferred Have experience building or integrating AI/ML service APIs or developer platforms Have knowledge of speech recognition, NLP, or computer vision technologies Have experience building developer tools, SDKs, or self-service platforms Have familiarity with API monetization, billing systems, or usage-based pricing models Have experience with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and API lifecycle management Have understanding of rate limiting, quota management, and SLA enforcement Salary Range or On Target Earnings: Minimum: $151,800.00 Maximum: $332,200.00 In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Nimbus Data Systems has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value. Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations.
