Best Remote Job Boards in 2026 (An Honest List of 40+)
The remote and tech job boards worth your time in 2026, the ATS career feeds most people never check, and which ones we index ourselves.
If you've ever searched for a remote job, you know the pain: dozens of job boards, each with a different UI, different filters and maddeningly overlapping listings. You end up with 40 browser tabs and a growing sense of dread.
We built career.now to fix that: one public, deduplicated job index, refreshed daily from hundreds of public sources. Along the way we developed strong opinions about which boards are actually worth your time. This is that list.
Most boards below are ones we index ourselves, so we know their data quality, their quirks and their blind spots. Where we don't index a board (because it blocks automated access, or we lost access), the table says so. No affiliate links, no pay-to-play rankings.
We left out listing counts on purpose. Board sizes change week to week, and a number in a blog post goes stale the day after it's written. For live numbers on our own index, see the Pulse page.
1. Large aggregators
The big names everyone knows. Massive reach, significant trade-offs for remote job seekers.
| Board | Region | In our index | Honest take | |---|---|---|---| | Indeed | Global | No | Biggest job board on earth. The remote filter exists but is unreliable: many "remote" listings turn out to be hybrid or on-site. Behind Cloudflare, so nobody can read it in bulk. | | LinkedIn Jobs | Global | No | Great for networking context: you can see who works there. The remote filter is loose and the signal-to-noise ratio is brutal. Plenty of ghost jobs and recruiter spam. | | Glassdoor | Global | No | Useful for salary data and company reviews, less useful as a primary search tool. Still mixes hybrid roles into remote results. | | ZipRecruiter | US | No | Strong in the US. Expect a lot of email. Remote listings skew toward customer service and sales. |
Bottom line: fine as a starting point, but noisy. For remote tech work, the specialized boards below do better.
2. Remote-first job boards
These exist specifically for remote work. Every listing is remote by default, so no wading through hybrid bait-and-switches.
| Board | Focus | Region | In our index | Honest take | |---|---|---|---|---| | We Work Remotely | All remote | Global | Yes | The OG remote board. Mostly tech and design, smaller volume, nearly zero junk. Still one of the first places companies post remote roles. | | Himalayas | All remote | Global | Yes | Massively underrated. Large database, good company profiles, transparent salary data, and one of the best public APIs in the space. | | Remote.co | All remote | Global | Yes | Clean, curated, good category breakdowns. The full job description is public on every posting. | | RemoteOK | Tech remote | Global | Yes | Fast, no-nonsense, good tag system, salary shown often. Can be spammy at times, but the good listings are genuinely good. | | Remotive | Tech remote | Global | Yes | Curated remote tech roles with a clean public feed. Small, consistent quality. | | Jobicy | All remote | Global | Yes | Clean interface, good filtering, strong salary data. Particularly good for EU-friendly remote roles. | | FlexJobs | Remote and flexible | US | No | A paid board. They hand-screen listings, which keeps scams out. Worth it only if you want a curated, gated experience. | | Working Nomads | Digital nomad | Global | Yes | Curated picks, small volume, excellent signal-to-noise. | | 4 Day Week | 4-day and remote | Global | Yes | The only board that filters for a shorter work week. Publishes a free public API, which is how we read it. | | Remote First Jobs | Tech remote | Global | Yes | Small, tech-only, consistent. Good as a supplementary source. | | Jobspresso | All remote | Global | Yes | Hand-curated, strong in marketing, support and operations. Well-structured data. | | RemoteJobs.com | All remote | Global | Yes | Clean remote-only aggregator with a pleasant browsing experience. | | RemoteWLB | Remote, work-life balance | Global | Yes | Highlights companies with healthy remote cultures. An interesting niche. |
3. Tech and developer job boards
If you're a software developer, these boards speak your language: filters by stack, seniority and (usually) remote status. Their audiences don't tolerate vague listings, so data quality tends to be high.
| Board | Focus | Region | In our index | Honest take | |---|---|---|---|---| | Dice | Tech generalist | US | Yes | The biggest pure-tech board in the US. Extensive skill filters. Skews toward enterprise and contract roles. | | NoFluffJobs | Tech, salary on every listing | Poland / EU | Yes | Mandatory salary ranges, refreshingly honest. The best board for tech in Poland and increasingly strong across the EU. | | Just Join IT | Tech | Poland | Yes | The other big Polish tech board. Salary ranges are common, good filtering by stack. | | DevITJobs | Developer | EU | Yes | Developer-focused, good salary transparency, strong in DACH. | | GermanTechJobs | Tech | Germany / DACH | Yes | The go-to for tech in Germany. Salary, visa and remote info up front. | | SwissDevJobs | Developer | Switzerland | Yes | Swiss tech salaries, small but high quality. | | HackerX | Tech / events | Global | Yes | Started as invite-only hiring events. Listings tend to come from well-funded companies. Good for senior developers. | | Remotely (formerly Empllo) | Tech remote | Global | Yes | Global remote tech positions with clean data. Their API terms ask for attribution, and we link back to them on every job page that came from them. | | CutShort | Tech | India / Global | Yes | Huge, particularly strong for India. Watch the dates: many listings stay up long after they're filled. | | EchoJobs | Tech | US / Global | No | Large, aggregates from company career pages. We no longer index it. |
4. Niche stack and specialty boards
Specific technologies or disciplines. If you work in one of these stacks, the signal is unmatched: every listing is relevant.
| Board | Stack / niche | In our index | Honest take | |---|---|---|---| | ElixirJobs | Elixir / Erlang | Yes | Tiny and perfectly targeted. If you write Elixir, you already know it. | | VueJobs | Vue.js | Yes | Small volume, zero noise. Good for frontend devs who specialized in Vue. | | GolangProjects | Go | Yes | Simple and well maintained. Catches Go roles that don't surface on general boards. | | RemotePython | Python | Yes, unreliably | Python-specific remote roles. The site is often unreachable and its listings are thin, so treat it as a bonus. | | DevOpsJobs | DevOps / SRE | Yes | DevOps, SRE, cloud and platform engineering. Niche but growing. | | RubyOnRemote | Ruby / Rails | No | Ruby isn't dead and neither is this board. Mostly established companies running Rails at scale. | | Dribbble Jobs | Design | Yes | The design community's home turf. Product designers, UX researchers, design engineers. |
Pro tip: stack-specific boards are small, but they're where hiring managers post first when they need a specialist. Check them before the big boards and you'll face less competition.
5. Regional job boards
The global boards miss a lot of local opportunities. These are often the primary hiring channel in their markets.
| Board | Region | In our index | Honest take | |---|---|---|---| | GetOnBrd | Latin America | Yes | The dominant tech board in LATAM. Many roles are remote with a LATAM timezone preference. Salary transparency. | | StartupJobs.cz | Czech Republic | Yes | The best board for Czech tech startups. Clean, good salary data. | | Djinni | Ukraine / Eastern Europe | No | The Ukrainian tech community's board. Large, active, with an anonymous profile system. We don't index it. | | JobFluent | EU, multilingual | Yes | Roles that need languages beyond English: Barcelona, Berlin, Amsterdam and more. | | Landing.jobs | Portugal / Southern Europe | Yes | Strong in Lisbon's booming scene, good salary transparency. | | ICTjob.be | Belgium | Yes | The dominant IT board in Belgium. Start here for Brussels, Ghent or Antwerp. |
Government job services are worth knowing too. EURES, the EU's public job mobility portal, lists vacancies from national employment services across Europe, and national services like NAV in Norway publish open APIs. We index both.
6. ATS career pages (the hidden layer)
This is where most job seekers have no idea what they're missing.
An ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is the software companies use to run hiring. Most of them publish each customer's open jobs as a public career page, often with a structured feed behind it. That means thousands of company career pages, readable in a consistent format.
Why it matters: many jobs on company career pages never make it to traditional job boards. Companies pay per listing on the big boards, so they are selective about what they cross-post. Their ATS page has everything.
| ATS | Typical customers | Honest take | |---|---|---| | Greenhouse | Tech companies of every size | The gold standard for tech hiring. Clean, reliable public board API. | | Lever | Tech scale-ups | Second most common in tech. Together with Greenhouse, a large share of tech hiring. | | Ashby | Startups | Eating Greenhouse's lunch at early-stage companies. If a hot Series A is hiring, it's probably on Ashby. | | Workday | Large enterprises | Where big companies hire. Clunky to browse by hand, but a huge pool of roles that never reach startup boards. | | SmartRecruiters | Enterprise | Covers larger companies that rarely appear on startup-focused boards. | | Personio | DACH mid-market | Very common with German, Austrian and Swiss companies. | | Recruitee, Teamtailor, Breezy, Rippling | SMBs, often EU | Smaller companies that post one or two roles and skip job boards entirely. Individually small, together a lot of unique jobs. |
> Why ATS pages are a superpower: we discover companies on these platforms automatically, mostly from the apply links in postings we already hold. When a startup posts its first job on Greenhouse or Ashby, it often lands in our index before it appears on any job board.
7. Startup and VC portfolio boards
VC firms and accelerators run job boards for their portfolio companies: curated listings from funded companies, often with roles you won't find elsewhere.
| Board | Focus | In our index | Honest take | |---|---|---|---| | Y Combinator: Work at a Startup | YC portfolio | Yes | Jobs from YC-backed companies. The best single source for startup jobs, period. | | Techstars Jobs | Techstars portfolio | Yes | Seed to growth stage worldwide, strong in fintech and healthtech. | | ClimateTechList | Climate / cleantech | Yes | The definitive climate tech board. Saving the planet turns out to need a lot of engineers. |
Honorable mentions
- The Muse: US-focused, with good company culture profiles. Useful for understanding what working somewhere actually feels like. We index it.
- Reed.co.uk: the UK's largest board. Essential for the UK market. We don't index it any more: its public sitemap gives us a link and nothing else, and we don't show naked links.
- Hacker News "Who is hiring?": the monthly thread is still one of the best places to find small, technical teams. We index it.
The problem with checking 40+ job boards
If you've read this far, you might be a bit overwhelmed. That's the honest reality of job searching in 2026: openings are scattered across dozens of sources, each with different update schedules, data formats and search features.
You have three options:
- DIY it. Bookmark 10-15 boards from this list, set up alerts where they exist, and check them daily. It works. Budget 30-60 minutes a day.
- Search one index. career.now reads the boards marked "Yes" above plus company ATS pages and government job services. You search once, duplicate postings of the same role collapse into one result, and every result links straight to the original posting.
- Let your own AI do it. The whole index is available to your AI assistant through our free MCP server and REST API. Tell Claude or ChatGPT what you're looking for and it searches, reads and shortlists jobs for you.
All of it is free. No subscription, no card, no paid tier. A free account adds a job tracker and lets your agent save a CV tailored to a specific job.
> How it works: type what you're looking for, or pick a category and filters. Salary is shown only when we could verify it, expired jobs drop out of search, and every result links to the original posting on the employer's site.
